"Countdown"
Acappella "Doo Wop"
Quintet

Countdown is an acappella
quintet based in San Diego. The group's specialty is the re-creation of
the classic East coast, street corner Doo Wop sound made popular in the
1950's and 60's. They perform the traditional favorites ("Come Go With
Me," "Duke of Earl") as well as some lesser known songs. ("Oh, Rosemarie,"
"Long Tall Girl") Their signature song, "Countdown to Love," is an
acappella adaptation of a song from the movie, "Streets of Fire."

DOO WOP SOCIETY SHOW
"The show opened with a welcome return from Countdown, an acappella
group from San Diego. ...Much to their credit and professionalism, their
well worked harmonies and resounding bass .... they hit big! Their
signature tune, "Countdown to Love" was as satisfying as a gallon of cold
water in the desert, and their delivery of the Carnations' "Long Tall
Girl" was an authentic rendition of an underplayed East Coast favorite."
